OFF-TRACK & PANEL REPAIR IN BUFFALO, NY

Doors knocked off the rails, bent or rusted tracks, worn rollers and dented sections repaired on homes and light-duty commercial buildings across Buffalo. We match single panels so you replace a section, not the whole door.

Door jammed crooked in the opening?
Don’t force it with the opener; it bends the track further. Leave it and call. We’re usually out the same day.

BACK ON THE RAILS AND LOOKING LIKE NEW

A door comes off its track when a roller pops out, a cable slips, a track bends or something hits the door. Forcing it makes it worse. We reset the rollers, straighten or replace the track and find the reason it jumped so it doesn’t happen again.

Dented or cracked sections don’t mean a new door either. GearHouse matches replacement panels to most door brands and styles, so a backed-into section or a rotted bottom panel is swapped and the rest of the door stays.

—  REPAIR FIRST

MOST GARAGE DOORS DON’T NEED REPLACING. THEY NEED THE RIGHT REPAIR.

GearHouse is a repair company first. We install new doors only when we truly have to. So when we say a spring or cable will fix it, that’s a repair, not a sales pitch.

A snapped spring, a frayed cable, a bent track or a dented section looks dramatic, but it’s one part on an otherwise good door. Fixing that part costs a fraction of a new door, keeps the opener and hardware you already own, and is usually done the same day.

  • Keep the door you have
  • Same-day, usually one visit
  • Save hundreds to thousands vs. new
  • New doors only when it really is time

—  KNOW THE WARNING SIGNS

SIGNS YOUR DOOR IS ABOUT TO JUMP THE TRACK

Doors rarely come off the track without warning. Catching these saves a jammed door and a bent section.

Door rubs or scrapes the track

Rollers are worn or the track has shifted off the jamb.

Gap on one side of the door

A cable has slipped or a track is out of alignment, and the door is racking.

Wobble or shudder on the way up

A roller is cracked or the horizontal track is sagging.

Visible bend or crimp in the track

A hit from a bumper or mower. The door will jam at that spot.

Hinges cracked or bolts missing

Sections start to separate, and the door twists in the opening.

Bottom panel soft or rusted

Water wicks into the bottom section first. Replace it before it spreads.

DOOR OFF THE TRACK? STOP THE OPENER.

An off-track door can fall out of the opening. Don’t run the opener or try to lift it back on. We’ll reset it safely, usually the same day.

—  FAQ  —

OFF-TRACK & PANEL REPAIR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Resetting a door and replacing the worn rollers that caused it is a small to mid-range repair. A bent track adds a bit; a replacement section depends on the door. We quote on site before any work starts, and the estimate is free.

We don’t recommend it. The door is under spring tension and can fall out of the opening or pinch badly. Leave it where it is, don’t run the opener, and call.

Usually, yes. We match sections for most major brands and styles. If the door is discontinued or the damage runs through several sections, we’ll tell you honestly whether a new door is the better value.

The common causes are a worn or broken roller, a cable that slipped off its drum, a bent track or the door being hit. We fix the cause along with resetting the door so it doesn’t happen again.

Often not. If the damage is one or two sections and the track is straight, we replace those panels and the door is good as new. We’ll look and tell you plainly.

Most off-track repairs take about an hour. Panel replacement is one to two hours once the matching section is on hand.
